Son of Lord Dmitri Czernov.  The senior Czernov was one of [[..:king william rockefeller i|King William]]'s military leaders during the battles surrounding the founding of the [[..:Empire of America]].  Claudius is slightly balding and a touch overweight, and has a reputation as a boor and a lout.  His wealth and his father's rank mean that he is tolerated in polite society despite his behaviour.
